Ziggy + Boo
I'd like you to meet my kitties, Ziggy and Boo. They are the heart of our household, and my little furry lovebugs.
We have two cats. Ziggy and Boo.

I adopted Ziggy back in 2018, from a craiglist ad I found. He was handed to me in a back alley behind a library in East Toronto, and I'll never forget the interaction. It felt like I had found this cat on the black market and was making a shady deal. But no it was just a man with kittens, trying to get rid of them. He handed me Ziggy, a fluffy ball of fur, and he was filthy but I held him closely. He was mine. My mom drove us home and I gave that little fur-ball a little bath. I dried him off and it was like something clicked, he would not leave my side, and he has never left my side ever since. He's my companion and often feels like my firstborn. He comforts me when I am sad, he hops and jumps when he knows energy is filling the room. He used to rub his whole body on my face as a kitten, but now as a full grown man he purrs and demands head scritches. He's a chatter box and will scream at blank walls, he is sometimes dog-like and will greet any new human he encounters. But like a cat he makes it known you're not his favorite. When he met Matthew in 2020, it was the first person I saw Ziggy fall in love with, other than myself and my mom. He was enamored by Matthew, they would play with every visit. And when we all lived together in Vancouver for 6 months, he decided, like I did, Matthew was ours. His name is Ziggy and yes, after Ziggy Stardust, his name is apt. He's a poofball of beauty, and he knows and flaunts it. My mom constantly compliments his beauty. My mother-in-law Nora calls him George Clooney (whom I think she thinks is the most handsome man on the planet haha). Ziggy is so handsome that when I brought Boo home, she instantly had heart eyes for the guy, and she has been attached ever since.

Boo is our little tortie. Our sweet angel that could do no wrong. You see. Boo was meant to be my mother's cat. She had lost her beloved tortie Juliet. And with good faith I found Boo and picked her up to surprise my mom. She named her Boo because she always looks a little spooked and she's the most fearful little kitty. I call her cautious, everyone else describes her as "scared". We later learned Boo suffers from a Ventricular Septal Defect and Pulmonary Hypertension, so the caution and fear made a lot of sense later on, and also explained why she was the runt of the liter, exponentially tinier than her brothers and sisters, so much so the vets didn't believe me when I told her her age (12 weeks) at her first visit. Anyways, as I was saying Boo was meant to be my mother's cat, but the moment she met Ziggy she was hooked, in love, and clearly bonded for life. So when I left Toronto to move to Colorado to be with Matthew, both Ziggy and Boo came along. And honestly, it was the best. She is such a light in our little home despite her health struggles.
The dynamic between our two cats is quite endearing. Ziggy often acts like a prince, and wants to be treated as one. Boo on the other hand is a little huntress that also just wants to lick the heck out of Ziggy forever, if she could. Their size difference is comical and their approach to strangers are wildly different. If you do ever meet Boo consider it an honor and privilege because she is not a fan of new people. Ziggy on the other hand would like to be greeted as the royal highness he is. We enjoy little moments with them, cuddles, giving them boxes to play with, finding fluffy cusions for Boo to lounge in. Ziggy runs, while Boo follows.

Ziggy and Boo. My little loves. I've immortalized them in so many ways. I have a tattoo of them, have put them on this website in the footer as little greeters. They are important to me in so many ways. If you ever meet or see them, make sure to show them some love, they truly deserve it. You can also see the pieces I've made for them on this website. If you'd like something for your little loves let me know!
